The 35th performed a number of drills over the course of the day for the public prior to the combat demonstration which marks the crescendo of the event. To top it off, we "captured" Washington, as seen in the photo below. Although he is a slippery fellow and the American War of Independence continues on.
This event was cold! Fortunately, we had some scalding hot musket barrels to warm our fingers after setting the rebels under Mister Washington to flight. As in previous years, the 35th took the field opposite the New York Line regiments to interpret the fall of Fort Tryon and the capture--or restoration--of Manhattan to British rule in 1776.
