About Ringwood Manor
From its website: Ringwood Manor is a National Historic Landmark District, having historical importance spanning from Native American occupation through the early 20th century. The surrounding Ramapo Mountains' rich magnetite iron deposits made the area a major iron supplier and became the home to a succession of ironmasters for over two hundred years. During the Gilded Age, Ringwood Manor became a large summer estate for partners Peter Cooper and Abram S. Hewitt and their families. In 1938, the house, its contents, and the surrounding property were donated by the family to the State of New Jersey as a museum and a state park. With original historical structures, gardens, and landscapes on 582 acres and extensive historical collections illustrative of family life, community, industry and culture, Ringwood Manor is a unique repository of American history. Today, Ringwood Manor is a central part of Ringwood State Park and administered by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Parks and Forestry.
The Layout
The encampment area will be on the front lawn of Ringwood Manor and wrap around the western side patio. There are trees and shade to be found here and the area offers easy access by both visitors and reenactors for a wonderful display. Just beyond is the demonstration area with ample space for safely discharging arms or demonstrating tactics.
The bathrooms are located at the back (north side) of the Manor and can be accessed directly from the walkway. There is no need to go inside Ringwood Manor. There is also a hose nearby which can provide potable, tested-to-be-safe water as needed. Additionally, near the driveway as one enters the Manor grounds, there is a drinking fountain also tied into the well water.
The main parking lot is a short, straight walk to the house. Vehicles which are to stay overnight need to have a parking pass so that Park Police are aware they are reenactors. Please provide your car information in the field in the registration form below if you intend to keep your car overnight. Those who do not wish to camp may be able to find some hotel rooms at Skylands or in the Mahwah area.
New Jersey gets hot and humid in the summer. Please be aware of your body's signals and let someone know if you need help. We want everyone to have a fun, safe time.

Housekeeping...
Please bear in mind, NJ State Park rules apply - all NJ State Parks are "dry" and while pets are permitted, they must be kept on a leash at all times. If you have questions on park regulations, please feel free to contact Ringwood State Park at 973-962-7031.
Fires - whether or not fires are allowed is determined by the fire marshal according the dryness conditions. Fires must be accompanied by a bucket of water at minimum, but please have fire safety materials (bucket of water, thick blanket, fire extinguisher) nearby. While the park regrettably cannot provide firewood, there is a Stop and Shop at 130 Skyline Drive, Ringwood, NJ 07456 which typically stocks charcoal and firewood for those who might need it.
Weaponry - firearms may be discharged in the designated area only during event hours. No gunfire is permitted within the campsite itself. Participants must pick up spent cartridges afterward to keep the park safe and clean.
Garbage - all garbage is carry in, carry out. To prevent attracting animals, there are no open garbage cans on the site. Please bring trash bags to help keep the park clean. The park staff also ask if you have excess firewood that you take it home with you as well.
Release - all participants are required to sign a waiver and release when they arrive at the event.
