The pandemic obviously canceled all of our programming since it began, but the 35th participated in its first living history event in 14 months when we were invited to a small timeline event at Red Mill in Clinton, NJ. The site asked all participants to wear their masks, which gave us an opportunity to show off our regimentally-marked masks as a slight departure from the usual uniform order.
The event itself was well attended and spaced out over the grounds of what is a picturesque site adjacent to a lovely mill pond. There was a ceremony held for some of the local veterans, including the presentation of a "Valor Quilt" made by ladies associated with the veterans groups. Some of the reenactment displays showed an interesting cross-section: medieval Polish, Revolutionary War, US Civil War, ourselves representing Victorian Britain and the WW1 VADs, First and Second World War impressions, Korea, and vehicle displays.
Red Mill also provided the participants with pizza for lunch, which was very welcome.
Visitors came in a slow but steady stream and the weather was perfect for a nice time out following a long dormant stretch.
